On October 18, Italian fashion brand Max Mara presented its Untamed Heroine 2025 Fall/Winter collection fashion show at the Future Lander Center, Beijing. This season's Atelier coat collection is inspired by female portraits, transforming bold and resilient images into timeless couture.

The collection draws inspiration from iconic women such as Diana Vreeland, Nina Simone, Maria Callas, Juliette Gréco, Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy, and "Little Edie" from the cult documentary "Grey Gardens"—Edith Bouvier Beale, the eccentric cousin of Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis. These women, both past and present, each individualistic and unapologetically original, challenged convention and redefined style on their own terms. Fearless and refined, their spirit forms the emotional core of this season's Atelier coat collection.

Max Mara's 2025/2026 Fall-Winter Atelier coat collection boldly redefines modern silhouettes and structures by fusing tailoring traditions with avant-garde energy, sporty dynamism with haute couture, and meticulous craftsmanship with effortless elegance. The series features a diverse range of styles, including fluid silk coats, luxurious sweatshirt-inspired outerwear, equestrian-style women's jackets, and cocoon-shaped coats, each piece expressing a distinct design language.

The unique cocoon coat is inspired by Kurt Cobain's iconic flannel shirt pairing and is made from fine Scottish textiles. The equestrian jacket, finished with radiant sunburst pleats, showcases a refined yet unexpected edge. This season also introduces shearling belted jackets and animal-print coats, with their spotted patterns crafted using exquisite devoré techniques, blending technical artistry with dramatic visual expression.

In terms of color, Max Mara builds a visually rich palette with warm caramel and alpaca tones introducing new orange hues, navy and loden green forming new neutral tones, and a striking magenta accent. Meanwhile, the much-anticipated return of classic brown emerges as the defining signature color of the season.

Actresses Zhang Xiaofei, Wang Yuwen, Li Landi, and Jin Jing, along with the supermodel Ma Yanli, joined media guests and fashion insiders at the show, celebrating Max Mara's vision --- an elegant fusion of reason and passion in contemporary female imagery.
