      西班牙女作家。生于桑坦德,卒于马德里。1909年发表小说《卢斯梅拉的幼女》,描写山区生活,1914年发表《马拉加特利亚的狮身人面像》,写莱昂地区妇女被奴役的地位和痛苦的生活。丈夫去世后,她在父亲供职的矿上定居,对矿工的生活有深刻的了解。代表作《死亡者的金属》(1920)是一部充满人道主义精神的小说,表现了里奥廷托地区矿工们悲惨的处境,主张进行罢工斗争以改变这种状况,这部小说于1927年获西班牙国家文学奖,作者并被提名为诺贝尔文学奖金的候选人。她的其他重要作品有《美洲的胜利》(1945)和《一部爱情小说》(1953)等。
