    由于它的结晶度低,弹性大,呈橡胶状,同时又含有足够的起着物理交联作用的聚乙烯结品,因此具有热塑性弹性体的特点,所以也有将乙烯-醋酸乙烯共聚物称为热塑性乙烯-醋酸乙烯弹性体。白色或淡黄色粉状或粉状物,相对密度0.92-0.95,折射率1.480-1.5l0,脆性温度<-71℃。EVA的性能与醋酸乙烯(VAC)含量和分子量(熔体指数MI)关系极大,当MI一定,VAC含量增高时.其弹性、柔软件、粘接性、相容性、透明性、溶解性均有所提高。VAC含量降低时,则性能接近于聚乙烯,刚性增大,耐磨性及绝缘性上升。若VAC含量固定,MI增加时,则软化点下降,表面光泽改善,强度有所降低,反之MI减小则分子量增大。能提高耐冲击性和耐应力开裂性。EVA树脂具有良好的柔软性,橡胶般的弹性,-50 ℃下仍有较好的可按性。透明性和光泽性好。良好的化学稳定性、耐老化、耐臭氧.无毒性。
    用于制造热熔胶粘剂。贮存于阴凉、通风、干燥的库房内,防火、防潮。
