The diarylamine reacted with 4-bromo-1,8-naphthalimides to give the new diarylamine-substi-tuted 1,8-naphthalimide derivatives catalyzed by CuI/18-crown-6/K2CO3 or Pd(OAc)2/P(t-Bu)3/NaOt-Bu.

Many compounds in diarylamines have been used in the past as intermediates in the syntheses of dyestuffs and pharmaceuticals and as antioxidants for rubbers and elastomers.
