| 对映体 enantiomer 一种化合物的两个分子彼此不能重叠，互为实物与镜像的关系 。 对映异构体具有极为相似的物理性质和化学性质。只是它们的结构取向不同，一个是右手性（见手征性），另一个是左手性（见图）。一对对映体能使偏振旋转同一角度，但方向相反。使偏振面向右旋转（顺时针）的异构体称为右旋体；使偏振面向左旋转（反时针）的异构体称为左旋体。
对映异构体在对称环境中具有相同的性质，而在不对称环境中则性质不同。例如，在光学活性催化剂或试剂作用下，对映异构体分子的反应速率不同；在具有光学活性的溶剂中有不同的溶解性。当用圆偏振光检验时，对映异构体具有不同的折射率或不同的吸收光谱，但这些差别非常微小，以致不能加以利用和测量。 当对映异构体与其他手性化合物发生反应时，两者的反应束神经不同，但差别极微小。也右能一个对映异构体则完全不发生反应。这就是对映异构体生理活性不相同的原因。 |
