性质:是由具有絮凝作用的微生物制成的用于水和废水处理的新一代絮凝剂。目前使用的絮凝剂主要有两大类:一类是无机盐类物质,如铝盐、铁盐及其聚合物;另一类是有机高分子类物质,如聚丙烯酰胺衍生物等。这些絮凝剂尽管非常有效,但铝会引起老年痴呆症,聚丙烯酰胺中残留的丙烯酰胺单体是致癌物,因此研制开发安全无毒、无二次污染的微生物絮凝剂已越来越引起各国科研工作者的重视。已经发现,许多微生物能产生絮凝物质,其中具有最强絮凝作用的是红平红球菌(原称红平诺卡氏菌),这种细菌在日本旱田土壤中常见,在沉降性良好的活性污泥微生物相中约占2%。用它开发的微生物絮凝剂命名为NOC-1。
