 别名:武竹、郁金山草
  科属:百合科天门冬属
  形态:多年生常绿草本。具块根。丛生茎,蔓生多分枝,且下垂覆盖于盆口。叶状枝线形,簇生,极为细小,色青绿。总状花序,小花淡红色至白色。浆果球形,鲜红色。有变种斑叶型和矮天冬型。目前国际上流行栽培一种狐尾天冬,枝条成直立形,密生小叶组成如狐尾状,美丽异常。
  装饰应用:小型盆栽。常用千筒盆,置于高几架上,绿叶纤细柔软垂悬而下如飞瀑,具动感。也可悬吊欣赏。
  水:喜湿润,夏季需经常向叶面喷水。
  肥:半月施淡肥1次,以磷钾肥为主。
  土:肥沃砂质壤土,用腐叶土、碎粘土和腐熟马粪混合而成。
  温:不耐寒,生长适温15-30℃。冬季需入室越冬,室温5℃以上比较合适。
  光:较为耐阴,忌烈日曝晒。陈设于室内无光处,不可超过两周。可放在阳光充足的南窗处。每天移出室外让其见光4小时。
  繁殖:播种和分株繁殖。播种于春季和初夏,15℃时,约1个月发芽。分株宜在翻盆时进行。因根系生长势强,每年需要换盆,换盆时剪去一部分根须,将大株丛另行分数丛栽培即可。
