     无色半透明或乳白色粘液。溶于氢氟酸和氢氧化钠溶液,不溶于水和其他无机酸。加热凝固成硅胶,冷至0℃以下  则成粘液。
    应用  轻纺工业用作羊毛和轻纱上浆剂。冶金工业用作轧钢工程矽钢片的涂料。无机工业用于制备分子筛。精密铸造工业用于代替原硅酸乙酯,以改善劳动条件.并对铸件表面光洁度及型完强度均有提高,是铸型型壳的优良粘结剂。分析化学中用作色谱吸收剂,薄层色谱试剂和粘结剂。远红外技术中用作远红外波辐射涂料。此外,也用于固体硅电瓶的制造等。
