玉虚洞
玉虚洞，距县城2.5公里处,为喀斯特地貌。开发始于宋开宝二年，迄今已有1200多年。在明溪县北郊二公里黄坡山下。相传古时这里龙蛇作祟被玉虚仙翁镇服得名。玉虚洞分为明洞、暗洞、外景三个游览点。明洞前有“观音殿”，面积约150平方米，由三根天然石柱支撑。洞口有明代镌刻“玉虚洞天”、“玉虚仙洞”、“玉宇天浆”等擘窠大字。洞口下方新建檐歇山式天柱阁。洞内有天泉、斗狮、龟石、步丹台等十几景。后为“桃华洞”，广容千人，岩石晶莹、色彩斑斓，有佛头岩、祥云岩、隐鹊岩、跃鱼石等十几景。其中虚鸣窍最妙，用芦扫轻拍即发出巨响。洞壁四周有历代文人墨客题咏的摩崖石刻近百处。暗洞有电灯照明，内钟乳倒悬，有龟蛇入洞、雄鹰守洞等景。外景奇岩怪石，石径盘旋曲折，直通岩顶，半山和岩顶有亭供游人休息。岩下泉水汩汩，有花圃、梅园、杜鹃园、棕榈园、茶馆，供观赏和休息。历史悠久，又有徐霞客在此驻足畅游， 将滴水岩与玉华洞称为“武夷三绝”。古今游人络绎不绝，是我县风景秀丽的自然旅游胜地。
毛泽东、朱德、彭德怀等老一辈无产阶级革命家也曾经游览过。1931年——1934年红军也在此设立战地医院。十多年来红军战地医院是我县爱国主义、国防教育基地，也是红色旅游胜地。2005年10月被省列为重点红色旅游景区。
玉虚洞，名甲群秀，神秘莫测，所形成的“玉虚文化”及出土的旧石器文物把整个三峡库区人类的文明史实提早30万年。
