造纸机上使用的毛毯。按照在造纸机上的部位可分为湿毯、上毯和干毯。湿毯在造纸机上带水运转，作用是压榨纸坯使之脱水和纸面平滑。湿毯滤水性和弹性都好,强度高,收缩率小,耐磨,能抗细菌和抗酸碱腐蚀。上毯使用部位在湿毯的上方，有小部分接触烘缸，起领纸、顶平和干燥的作用，具有平整、硬挺、弹性好、耐磨、耐高温的性能。干毯包覆烘缸，在湿热和干燥状态下运行，对纸张起熨平和烘干作用，具有坚实、弹性好、耐磨、耐高温的性能。干毯也可以帆布或用涤纶长丝织制的透气性织物来代替。造纸毛毯分机织和针织两种。机织造纸毛毯采用羊毛和锦纶短纤维混纺纱线，混纺比约为 75:25，经织造、缩呢、起毛、烘干定型等工序制成。针刺造纸毛毯的制造方法是先将50％羊毛和50％锦纶短纤维或100％锦纶短纤维梳理成纤维网,多层重叠，再用带倒刺的钢针把纤维网刺到预先织好的环形底布上，达到一定的紧密度和平整度。针刺的方法有单面针刺和双面针刺。针刺毛毯具有滤水性好、耐磨、强度高、使用寿命长的特点。
