性质:呈细丝状金属铱加工材料。铱丝的电阻系数为6.03×10-2Ωmm2/m,抗拉强度1493MPa,伸长率10%~20%。用粉冶法和熔铸-压力加工法均可生产出Ф0.15mm细丝。铱丝用作高温抗氧化热电偶材料和灯丝材料。Ir-W热电偶E2200℃=44.19mv,在1000~2000℃范围内,热电势与温度的关系几乎成直线,但只能在中性气氛或真空中使用。
