   异戊二烯(或2-甲基丁二烯)的聚合物。英文缩写PI。有4种立体结构:
   !!!J1677_1自然界只存在两种异构体,即顺-1,4-聚异戊二烯(天然橡胶、三叶胶)和反-1,4-聚异戊二烯(杜仲胶、巴拉塔胶)。工业上重要的是顺-1,4-聚异戊二烯,又称合成天然橡胶或异戊橡胶(IR)。
   聚异戊二烯是典型的弹性体,密度 0.90克/厘米3 。异戊橡胶的结晶性以及硫化胶的抗拉强度与顺式结构含量有关,结晶熔融温度则与结构规整性有关 ,玻璃化转变温度与3,4-或1,2-结构含量有关。反式聚异戊二烯易结晶,硬度和抗拉强度高。
   顺-1,4-聚异戊二烯可用TiCl4-AlR3  R常为异丁基 )齐格勒-纳塔催化剂和丁基锂催化剂进行聚合  ,聚合物中顺-1,4-聚异戊二烯含量分别可达97%和93%。中国还发展了稀土催化体系。顺-1,4-聚异戊二烯主要用于制造轮胎,以及靴鞋、电线、机械、医疗 、体育器材、乳胶制品等。反式聚异戊二烯可做高尔夫球。
