性质:组成基因表达和调控协调单位的一组基因复合体,包括结构基因、调节基因和由调节基因产物所识别的控制序列。通常在功能上彼此相关的有关基因串联在一起,有共同的启动子,并受操纵基因的控制。当调节基因的产物——阻遇蛋白与操纵基因结合后即可阻止其邻近启动子的起始转录。阻遇蛋白的作用属于负调控。但调节基因产物可以是负调节因子(如阻遏蛋白),也可以是正调节因子。
