    干旱、半干旱地区暂时性山地水流出山口堆积形成的扇形地貌。组成洪积扇的泥沙、石块颗粒粗大,磨圆度差,层理不明显,透水性较强,扇面上水系不发育。由于山前构造断裂下降,洪积物厚度可达数百米。从扇顶至扇缘高差也可达数百米。一系列洪积扇互相联结形成洪积平原,又称山麓洪积平原。洪积扇因山地不断抬升,山前平原不断下降,形成上叠式扇体。当山地上升规模、幅度均较大时,老扇随之抬升,在其下方发育新扇体,形成串珠状洪积扇。当山地前缘有不等量的新构造活动时,新扇体向相对下降的一侧移动,使新老扇体并列向一侧偏转,造成不对称形态。
