为楝科植物鹧鸪花的根。
【植物形态】
鹧鸪花 乔木，高达10米。枝光滑，有少数皮孔。单数羽状复叶，长10～36厘米；小叶7，对生，披针形至卵状矩圆形，长5～16厘米，宽2.5～7.5厘米，先端渐尖，基部钝而偏斜，下面苍白色，常有短毛.圆锥花序腋生，长近于叶；花白色；萼钟状，4～5裂；花瓣4～5，矩圆形；雄蕊筒8或10裂；子房近球形，2～3室。蒴果近球形，有柄，长2厘米，宽1.5厘米，光滑无毛，2瓣裂开。种子有白色假种皮。 生于山坡林中。分布云南、广西、贵州等地。
【采集】
全年可采。切片晒干。
【性味】
苦，凉，有小毒。
【功用主治】
清热解毒，祛风湿，利咽喉。治风湿性关节炎，风湿腰腿痛，咽喉炎，扁桃体炎，心、胃气痛。
【用法与用量】
内服：煎汤，3～5钱；或浸酒。
