1955年由工业情报公司(简称IFI)开发，1968 年被普列纳姆公司接管，改名为IFI/ Plenum Data Co.公司专利检索系统，以提供美国专利检索工具为主。前期业务是提供美国化学专利检索工具，数据库为专利权要求／化学专利文献档(Claims/Chem.)；后期产品已扩大到全技术领域，数据库为专利权要求／专利引证文献档和专利权要求／专利文献档。前一种文档包括1947年以来美国专利上引证的文献记录500万篇(包括美国和其他国家的，90％为专利文献),通过洛克希德公司的DIALOG系统提供联机检索服务,使用的是220、221和222号文档。后一种文档包括1950年以来的美国专利记录 (1950～1962年化学领域，1963年以后全技术领域，1980年后包括外观设计)160万篇，通过DIALOGII系统提供联机检索服务，使用23、24、25、125、223、224和225号文档;还可通过美国系统发展公司的书目情报分时联机检索系统 (ORBTI),和联邦德国卡尔斯鲁厄的科技情报网络 (STN)提供检索服务。
