描述:Ruppiaceae川蔓藻科,单子叶植物,只有川蔓藻属Ruppia1属,2种,广布于温带和亚热带的咸水中,参阅该属。本科原隶Potamogetonaceae科,现分出而自成一科,其不同之点为咸水生草本,穗状花序顶生,花无花被,心皮于结果时有长柄和有悬垂的种子。
