        用粉末冶金方法製造的﹑在相对运动中相互摩擦表面之间的摩擦係数较小的金属﹑合金或金属复合材料﹐又称烧结减摩材料。烧结减摩材料广泛用於製造滑动轴承﹑止推轴承﹑端面密封﹑支承衬套等。其主要优点是在有限润滑油的条件下﹐使用寿命较长和可靠性较高。烧结减摩材料按其製造方法可分为两类。一类是在材料孔隙中浸有润滑油或在材料成分中加有(或在其表层充覆)减摩剂或固体润滑剂(石墨﹑氧化物﹑硫化物﹑氮化物﹑氟塑料或其他塑料)。这类材料在乾摩擦条件下依靠自身或表层含有的润滑剂润滑﹐即具有自润滑效果。另一类是钢与烧结合金的复合材料﹐如在钢带上烧结一层铜铅合金粉末等。这类材料的承载能力比前一类大﹐一般用以製造重载轴承。烧结减摩材料的发展趋向是提高多孔铁基和铜基材料的承载能力﹐发展能在较高温度和更恶劣的摩擦条件下使用的材料﹐研製能在真空和惰性气体中工作的材料。
