性质:把氨水或碱加入稀土盐溶液中,生成不稳定的胶状沉淀,高于200℃则脱水为REO(OH),再升温为RE2O3。稀土氢氧化物沉淀的pH值随原子序数增大而降低。三价铈的氢氧化物在空气中不稳定。易缓慢氧化为Ce(OH)4。三价稀土氢氧化物本身呈碱性,不溶于水和碱中,易溶于酸中生成盐,但在稀HNO3和稀盐酸中溶解度不同,Ce(OH)4在上述稀酸中溶解度低于Ce(OH)3。可用来制取单一稀土盐及氧化物。
