与经济学家不同，生态学家不仅认识到自然资源和生态过程的重要价值，而且还认识到，要想有效保护人类赖以生存的自然和环境基础，就必须把各类生态环境成本加以核算，并使其体现在市场信号中，进而构建基于相对完全信息基础上的生态市场经济。
