This paper discusses the effects of heating-up temperature on the structure and performance of M42 high-speed steel rod, and points out that the carbide in the structure of the rod is small and distributes evenly and the contraction rate of the section is the best at 880℃,which is beneficial to the drawing of the rod.

The effect of annealing process parameters including heating temperature,holding time and isothermal transformation on microstructure and mechanical properties of M2 high speed steel wires processed by different isothermal annealing processes was investigated.
