This coring not only found many features including city wall,moat,protection slope of moat and road in Dongjing city,Kaifeng,but also exhibited these features on the same section.
此次钻探不仅发现了城墙、护城壕、城壕护坡、道路等遗迹现象,而且将其展现在同一个剖面图中,从而为我们了解宋代城墙与城壕的空间距离和位置关系、壕沟的修筑方法及其特点提供了重要的考古资料。

For the internal city, there still existed city moat which could link with that of the outer city through the Guangji River in the regency of Emperior Zhenzong (998-1022).
北宋东京外城城垣始建于后周时期，入宋以后虽经多次修葺，只是增高和加厚，城垣仍是作直线的长方形；里城在北宋时期有城壕的存在，真宗时经广济河里外城壕可以相通；宫城之外就是民居，还曾有诸位次内小屋子和仪鸾司木场子，没有城壕的存在。
