性质:又称电熔β-氧化铝砖或熔铸β-刚玉砖。用工业氧化铝作为原料、用工业氧化铝作为原料、β-Al2O3为主晶相的熔铸耐火材料。氧化铝含量约为95%,其他氧化物约含5%(一般是Na2O)。矿物级忝中β-Al2O3约占99%(β-Al2O3是一种假定式为Na2O·11Al2O3的多铝酸盐,或者通式为RO·6Al2O3的钙、钡、锶的铝酸盐),以较大的板状结晶互相啮合,玻璃相较少。熔铸β-Al2O3砖对碱蒸气呈惰性,在不含碱的气氛中易分离出碱而转化为α-Al2O3,并因伴有体积收缩而引起砖的碎裂。这种砖耐热震性较好,从700℃到常温,在空气中可循环40次左右。这种砖一般用于砌筑玻璃熔池的上部结构。
