性质:又称柔性石墨。石墨经特殊化学处理,嵌入碱金属、卤素、金属卤化物、强氧化性含氧酸等形成层间化合物,再经高温处理急速分解,发生膨胀,体积可增至原来的几百倍。疏松多也,富有弹性。耐温范围宽,在-200~3600℃之间。能承受中子、γ-、β-等射线的长期照射。在高温、高压或辐射等条件下工作,不发生分解、变形或老化。化学性质稳定。可作密封元件,可在深冷氢气分离净化装置、硫酸回收装置、核能工业的硼酸泵等苛刻的条件下使用。还可作坩埚、保温、衬里、隔音和防震材料以及催化剂载体、吸附剂、脱色剂等。是有前途的新颖工程材料。缺点是强度还不够高。
