    性状  暗红色斜方晶系结晶体。密度2.7-2.8g/cm3。熔点196℃。凝固点170-172℃。  熔融时稍有分解。在200-250℃分解放出氧, 生成介于三氧化铬和三氧化二铬之间的中间化合物。遇臭氧生成过氧化物。为强氧化剂。与有机物接触摩擦能引起燃烧。遇酒精、苯即能发生燃烧或爆炸。
    应用领域  主要用于无机工业铬化合物生产。印染工业用作氧化剂,颜料工业用于生产锌铬黄、氧化铬绿等,有机工业用于生产低变催化剂、中变仪比剂、氧化催化剂和高压法甲醇催化剂等。另外,还可用于木材防腐,防水剂OR生产及高纯度金属铬电解等。
