    体细长,稍侧扁。头尖。吻长,扁平如鸭嘴。口裂大,口角后延可达头长的一半。具锐齿。鳞细小,侧线鳞多数不规则,侧线不明显。背鳍位于体后部,接近尾鳍,与臀鳍相对,胸鳍和腹鳍较小,尾鳍叉形。体背部青铜色,腹部灰白色,体两侧有不规则的大黑斑。鳍灰白色,背鳍、臀鳍和尾鳍也有许多小黑斑。
