蒙古等游牧民族使用的牧业生产工具。 又称 "套竿"。蒙古语称"兀兀儿合"。据《元朝秘史》载，早在13世纪初蒙古汗国建立前，就已出现了这种工具，一直沿用至今。套马竿木质坚韧,总长约300厘米，顶端拴有套形皮绳。它既可用于套马，也可用于狩猎时套其他动物。每逢捕捉马匹时，牧民持竿跨马，冲入马群，看准马匹，抖开绳套，将马颈套住勒紧，随马奔驰，直至马匹力竭驯服为止。（见彩图）阿拉善旗等少数地区的牧民不用套马竿，而用套马索，蒙古语称"察拉木"。这些套马者多系技术娴熟、身强力壮的牧民，因而当地牧民以套马为光荣。
