      在浙江省杭州市,背靠吴山风景区,光绪四年(1878)建成。店房建筑将传统国药的批发、门市和制药部分一起,按功能需要结合江南住宅、园林等特色进行布置。
  
  胡庆余堂占地7.7亩多,由11个封闭式院落组成。总平面的周边不规则,院落间都用高大的封火墙包隔。分对外营业、配药、制药工场和辅助建筑等部分。
  
  门厅临街坐西朝东,而主轴为南北向,用廊子将门厅同距离较远的主轴联系起来。在廊子临天井一侧置有靠背栏杆,廊外不规则的天井或墙角点缀一些假山和花木等小品。廊边原来布满出售当地工艺品和玩具的摊贩,成为顾客逗留之所。
  
  主轴有前后两进院落套联,前为营业部,后为三合院式布局的管理部所在地。前进院子前端有大型砖雕门楼,是营业大厅的入口。进门为院子,上架凉棚,下设条凳供顾客休息。院子两侧各有侧厢三间。正北为大厅,面阔三间,进深九架,后带院子和侧厢,形成"H"形平面。大厅明间作为穿堂来贯通后院至后进院子。次间和前后侧厢为门市出售药品场所。主轴西侧为面阔五间的四合院式的院落。主轴院落和两侧院落之间夹一长生弄。西侧院落前厅是会客室,两侧是临时客房,后厅是货房。
  
  这两组建筑多架有楼层,凡是对外营业部分的楼下梁枋、檐下的挑梁头,围绕院子的上下层装修等是装饰的重点,采用雕花或雕狮子形的托脚,或用高级木材制成隔扇,雕出多种图案花纹的隔扇,以显示建筑的精美华丽。二楼和其他建筑,多作为生产、储藏之用,但求牢固,取材较大,建筑装饰一概从简。制药、配药间都架有顶棚,以防屋面灰尘下落,是保证药品卫生的措施。
