| 火力发电 thermal electric generation 利用煤、石油、天然气等固体、液体、气体燃料燃烧时产生的热能，通过发电动力装置（包括电厂锅炉、汽轮机和发电机及其辅助装置）转换成电能的一种发电方式。在所有发电方式中，火力发电是历史最久的，也是最重要的一种。由于地球上化石燃料的短缺，人类正尽力开发核能发电、核聚变发电以及高效率的太阳能发电等，以求最终解决人类社会面临的能源问题。最早的火力发电是1875年在巴黎北火车站的火电厂实现的。随着发电机、汽轮机制造技术的完善，输变电技术的改进，特别是电力系统的出现以及社会电气化对电能的需求，20世纪30年代以后，火力发电进入大发展的时期。火力发电机组的容量由200兆瓦级提高到300～600兆瓦级（50年代中期），到1973年，最大的火电机组达1300兆瓦。大机组、大电厂使火力发电的热效率大为提高，每千瓦的建设投资和发电成本也不断降低。到80年代后期，世界最大火电厂是日本的鹿儿岛火电厂，容量为4400兆瓦。但机组过大又带来可靠性、可用率的降低，因而到90年代初，火力发电单机容量稳定在300～700兆瓦。 火力发电按其作用分单纯供电的和既发电又供热的。按原动机分汽轮机发电、燃气轮机发电、柴油机发电。按所用燃料分，主要有燃煤发电、燃油发电、燃气发电。为提高综合经济效益，火力发电应尽量靠近燃料基地进行。在大城市和工业区则应实施热电联供。 火力发电系统主要由燃烧系统（以锅炉为核心）、汽水系统（主要由各类泵、给水加热器、凝汽器、管道、水冷壁等组成）、电气系统（以汽轮发电机、主变压器等为主）、控制系统等组成。前二者产生高温高压蒸汽；电气系统实现由热能、机械能到电能的转变；控制系统保证各系统安全、合理、经济运行。 火力发电的重要问题是提高热效率，办法是提高锅炉的参数（蒸汽的压强和温度）。90年代，世界最好的火电厂能把40％左右的热能转换为电能；大型供热电厂的热能利用率也只能达到60％～70％。此外，火力发电大量燃煤、燃油，造成环境污染，也成为日益引人关注的问题。 |
