形态特征:兰科白菱属植物。陆生兰，高15-50厘米。叶4-5枚，狭矩圆形或披针形，长8-29厘米，宽1.5-4厘米。花序具3-8朵花;花苞片开花时常凋落;花大，紫色或淡红色，萼片和花瓣近等长，狭矩圆形，急尖，长28-30毫米;花瓣较萼片阔;唇瓣较萼片和花瓣稍短，长23-28毫米，白色带淡红色具紫脉;侧裂片直立，合抱蕊柱，中裂片边缘有波状齿，顶端中部凹缺，唇盘上具5条褶片，褶片仅在中裂片上为波状;蕊喙细长，稍短于侧裂片。
生境分布:广布于长江流域各省。朝鲜、日本也有。
用途: 假鳞茎入药，能止血补肺、生肌止痛、润筋行气。
