   性质  无色发烟液体,呈弱碱性,微有特臭,可燃。熔点-51.7℃。沸点120.1℃。闪点73℃(开杯)。折射率nD(20℃)1.4280。相对密度d(21/4℃)1.032。与极易还原的汞、铜等金属氧化物和多孔性氧化物接触时,会起火分解。能与水和乙醇混溶不溶于氯仿和乙醚。能从空气中吸收二氧化碳。对玻璃、橡胶等材料有腐蚀性。 
    用途  用作医药、农药、染料及塑料发泡剂的重要原料及锅炉用水的优良脱氧剂
  毒性   本品中等毒性。其蒸气及液体能经皮肤、消化道、呼吸道迅速吸收,毒性有蓄积作用,对血液和神经有毒害,长时间接触本品蒸气能引起兴奋(或痉挛),然后逐渐处于昏迷状态,使体温下降,呼吸困难。对眼睛有刺激性,能引起结膜炎、角膜坏死。对皮肤有腐蚀性,能引起搔痒、结节、化脓及破坏红血球。对大鼠经口LD50为60mg/kg。静脉注射LD50为0.57mg/kg。操作设备应严密,防止本品直接与人体接触,溅及人体或皮肤时要用硼酸冲洗并涂以硼酸软膏。车间应有良好通风,设备应密闭,操作人员应穿戴防护用具。 
   包装储运  采用聚乙烯塑料桶或内涂环氧树脂的铁桶包装,每桶包装规格有:40kg、50kg、150kg或180kg。密封保存于阴凉干燥通风处,贮运中要避免日光直射,注意防火。
