The problems to be noticed in the urea production & control were discussed from aspects of corrosion and optimization operation for the urea production system;the reason causing the corrosion was analyzed,the protective measures were proposed from aspects of materials and insulation etc.

The use of ferric hydroxide desulfurizer in urea production is described in detail ,and the factors that influence desulfuration effect are analysed in the paper.

As compared with other processes for urea production, it shows that it is very suitable for technological transform in mid-sized urea plant.

This paper makes a brief summary of the measures for technical t ra nsformation and practicing situation of many small urea units and their supporti ng works such as the decarbonizing workshop section, CO2 compressing and purifyi ng workshop section, N- H- aerostatic press, and main urea workshop building, etc.
