为忍冬科植物卵叶荚蒾的根。
【植物形态】
卵叶荚蒾，又名：藤草、高梁花。 直立灌木。小枝平滑无毛。单叶对生，叶阔卵形至长椭圆状卵形，长5～8.5厘米，宽4～6.3厘米，先端渐尖如尾状，基部圆形，边缘牙齿状锯齿，叶脉上具稀疏的星状毛。聚伞花序顶生，花序径4～8厘米，有5～7射出枝；花萼5齿；花冠5瓣；雄蕊5，较花冠为短；子房下位，被星状柔毛，花柱极短，3裂。核果，红色。花期5～6月。果期7月。 生长于中山区的林边。分布四川、湖北、云南等地。
【性味】
《四川中药志》："性平，味涩，无毒。"
【功用主治】
《四川中药志》："调经，涩精。治月经不调，梦遗虚滑，肺热口臭及白浊、带下。"
【用法与用量】
内服：煎汤，1～2两。
