性质:无色易挥发液体。熔点-89℃,沸点59.38℃(60-61℃),相对密度1.3140(20/4℃),折射率1.4251(20℃),闪点19℃。能与醇、醚、苯、氯仿混溶,微溶于水。

制备方法:由异丙醇与氢溴酸反应而得。将异丙醇在冷却下慢慢加入浓硫酸中,控制温度在30℃以下,加完后再加入氢溴酸,慢慢加热回流4h,然后蒸馏至出现油珠为止,将所得的粗品,分别以浓硫酸、水和5%碳酸钠洗涤,再用无水碳酸钠干燥、过滤、分馏,收集58.5-60.5℃馏分即为成品。另外还有异丙醇-溴化钠法。

用途:用作Grignard试剂和原料,药物和染料的中间体,还用于农药(敌草胺)等的制造。
