A new kinetic spectrophotometric method for the determination of trace copper(Ⅱ) is developed based on the catalytic effect of trace copper(Ⅱ) on oxidation of 2 (5 bromo 2 pyridylazo) 5 diethylaminophenoe(5 Br PADAP) with potassium bromate in sulphuric acid solution.
