广东揭阳惠来县前詹镇铭西村的铭湖岩，创建于南宋咸淳元年（1265），历代有修建，1987年复建，越载获登记开放，是惠来八景之一，1989年1月19日被县政府公布为重点文物保护单位之一，以岩洞奇特而古今闻名。
民间相传，唐朝释大颠，涉足于此，因听不惯海啸之声，遂徒往潮阳灵山创寺。南宋咸淳元年先建大殿，后代有续修。1987年1月，因发生山火，被烧成废岩。乡亲父老立即聚会，发动内外善信集资，在历经7年奋斗中，同时修筑水库内之道路，配套涵闸，方便游人往来，还新建玄天上帝庙，为岩添景。
岩内有3块天然巨石垒叠，形成石门，刻有明洪武（1368—1398）武进士林逊所题五言绝句。门前有巨石似狮象，称“狮象把水口”；又有大石似龟鳖，称“龟鳖拦水沟”。还有香风洞、扫叶泉、出米臼等胜景，历代游人络绎不绝。大革命时期，这里是地下中共党组织的活动场所。
