为禾本科植物苦竹的茎秆，用火烤灼时流出的液汁。植物形态详"苦竹叶"条。
【制法】
详"竹沥"条。
【功用主治】
清火消痰，明目利窍。 ①《别录》："疗口疮目痛，明目，利九窍。" ②《药性论》："治眼赤。" ③《日华子本草》："苦竹作沥，功用与淡竹同。" ④《纲目》："治牙疼。"
【用法与用量】
内服：冲服，1～2两；或入丸剂。外用：点眼或揩牙。
【选方】
①治目赤眦痛如刺，不得开，肝实热所致，或生障翳：苦竹沥五合，黄连二分，绵裹入竹沥内，浸一宿，以点目中，数度令热泪出。(《悔师集验方》) ②卒齿痛：苦竹烧一头，一头得汁，多揩齿上。(《姚僧坦集验方》)
