中国的省级地质博物馆。位于呼和浩特市呼伦南路。1989年建成开馆。有6个展厅。收藏有各种地质标本1万余块，为全国最大的省级地质博物馆之一。计有岩浆岩、沉积岩、变质岩三大岩类的主要岩石类型标本，各种生物化石标本，其中有保存极为完整的古生代头足类、煤系地层中的植物、各种矿产标本等。该馆陈列重点是内蒙古矿产资源，主要包括：①占世界总储量约 80％ 的白云鄂博稀土金属、铁矿及由其选冶出来的数十种产品；②华北地区北缘西段规模大分布广的中元古代地层中的铜、铅、锌矿；③储量居全国第 2位的铬矿；④内蒙古自治区的优势矿产----煤和盐类；⑤储量居全国第 1位的冰洲石、硫铁矿；⑥国内唯一的超大型萤石矿床----苏莫察查干敖包沉积改造型萤石矿；⑦晶体大而完整的绿柱石、黄玉、磷灰石、白云母、金云母；⑧驰名中外的宝石、玉石、彩石矿产，如角力格太的海蓝宝石和水蓝宝石,乌拉山的大块芙蓉石,块体巨大的宝山玛瑙，色泽艳美的巴林石和鸡血石及其雕刻品等。
