物种信息：体长约10厘米的活泼优雅山雀。各亚种有别。头顶及颈背棕色，过眼纹宽而黑，颏及喉白且具黑色圆形胸兜，下体白而具不同程度的栗色。亚种talifuensis及concinnus的下胸及腹部白色，胸带及两胁浓栗色；前者略显深。亚种iredalei 下体多皮黄色，胸及两胁沾黄褐，上背及两翼灰色，尾近黑而缘白。幼鸟头顶色浅，喉白，具狭窄的黑色项纹。虹膜黄色；嘴黑色；脚橘黄。尖细的联络声psip,psip；低颤鸣声chrr,trrt,trrt；嘶嘶声si-si-si-si-li-u及高音啭鸣。分布于喜马拉雅山脉、缅甸、印度支那、中国华南及华中。常见于海拔1400~3200米的开阔林、松林及阔叶林。亚种iredalei于西藏南部，talifuensis于西南，concinnus于华中、华南、东南及台湾。头顶灰色的亚种pulchellus可能出现在云南西南部西双版纳澜沧江以西。性活泼，结大群，常与其他种类混群。
