   通常指金属的切削加工,即用切削工具从金属材料(毛坯)或工件上切除多余的金属层,从而使工件获得具有一定形状、尺寸精度和表面粗糙度的加工方法。如车削、钻削、铣削、刨削、磨削、拉削等。在金属工艺学中,与热加工相对应,冷加工则指在低于再结晶温度下使金属产生塑性变形的加工工艺,如冷轧、冷拔、冷锻、冲压、冷挤压等。冷加工变形抗力大,在使金属成形的同时,可以利用加工硬化提高工件的硬度和强度。冷加工适于加工截面尺寸小,加工尺寸和表面粗糙度要求较高的金属零件。
