    位于中国四川省中部。华蓥山以西,龙泉山以东,北至米仓山、大巴山,南抵长宁山。又称盆中丘陵。面积约8.4万平方千米。丘陵广布,溪沟纵横为主要地理特征。海拔多在700米以下。中生代红层泥岩和砂岩广布,二者常成互层,厚薄不一。丘陵间多大河,形态有异,曲流发达,西岸有多级阶地,发育紫色土,肥力高,适合多种作物生长,是四川盆地重要农业区和经济林区。地面破碎,平地少,坡度大,水土流失严重,需综合改造利用。
