性质:又称陶瓷晶须增强体。由非金属材料及金属氧化物,如二氧化硅、氧化镁、氮化硅、碳化硅、碳化硼、氧化铍及氧化铝、石墨等制成的晶须。各种非金属晶须的直径比最细纤维还微细(小于10μm),长度由零点几毫米到数十毫米,最高模量可达100GPa数量级,最高熔点可达3500℃左右。陶瓷晶须因具有高强度、高模量的耐高温等突出优点,被用作复合材料的增强体可大大增加陶瓷基体、金属基体、树脂基体的力学性能。如用20%~30%氧化铝晶须增强金属,得到的复合材料强度在室温下比金属增加近30倍。作为增强体时,晶须用量多在35%(体积)以下。陶瓷晶须可大致分为非氧化物类和氧化物类两类。前者,如碳化硅和氮化硅,具有高达1900℃以上的熔点,故耐高温性好,多用于增强陶瓷基和金属基复合材料,但成本较高。氧化物陶瓷晶须,如CaSO4、K2O·6TiO2、2MgO·B2O3和nAl2O3·mB2O3(n=9~2,m=2~1)等,具有较高的熔点(1000~1600℃)和耐热性,可用作树脂基和铝基复合材料增强体。
