性质:又称骈枝反应(side reaction)或竞争反应(competing reaction)。反应物能同时平行地进行两个或两个以上的不同反应,得出不同的产物。其中反应较快或产物在混合物中所占比率较高的称为主反应,其余称为副反应。如苯酚的硝化反应即为平行反应,可得邻位、对位、间位三种硝基苯酚,主产物为邻硝基苯酚(约占59%)。平行反应各个反应的产物量之比等于其反应速率常数之比。通常规定“所包含的不同反应速率之比值”或者“不同反应的产物量之比值”平行反应的选择性为一般可采用改变反应温度或添加特定催化剂等方法改变某平行反应的选择性,以利于更多得到所期望的产物。
