mh-47e可以利用副油箱和空中加油设备进行远距离飞行或快速越海飞行。改进后的mh- 47e除装有两挺12.7毫米机枪外，还可以携挂空对空导弹。它的旋翼可以折叠，并安装有 旋翼刹车装置。机舱外安装了悬吊回收装置。它的最大载重为6512千克，最大平飞速度 297千米/小时，实用升限2900米。目前，美国陆军特种部队已装备了50架mh-47e。
