性质:以天然放射性核素钍(232Th)为母体,经过多次衰变(6次α衰变、4次β衰变)最终生成稳定核素208Pb(即ThD)的天然放射系。因为经β衰变生成的子体核素质量数不变,而经α衰变生成的子体核素的质量数改变4个原子质量单位,所以钍系各个核素的质量数都可以用4n通式来表示。因此,钍系也称作4n系。
