This paper derived dynamic equations of the Jeffcott cracked rotor, the cracked rotor with mid span and overhung disks and the cracked rotor supported on squeeze film dampers (SFD), and analyzed the intermittent chaos and the bifurcation in time domain of the response of the three kinds of cracked rotors.

We demonstrate that the type of intermittent chaos transitions in this model is saddle node bifurcation,according to the critical scaling exponent of the average time between bursts,the pair of periodic orbits and unstable periodic orbits and their corresponding Liyapunov exponents.

The result shows that the pulsation of intermittent chaos canoccur spontaneously in the adiabatic equation described by the oscillator within a certain paramet-ric region when the specific non-linear temperature profile is satisfied.
