制备方法：由苹果酸（羧基丁二酸）与邻氨基对甲基苯酚缩合而得。将装有分水装置的反应锅中加入165L二甲苯，17.5kg邻氨基对甲基苯酚，10kg苹果酸和0.5kg硼酸，通入二氧化碳，搅拌加热至沸腾，回流12h，冷至135℃以下，加入4kg活性炭，再加热回流半小时，趁热过滤，滤液冷至20℃以下，抽滤，滤饼烘干后用二甲基甲酰胺重结晶，得荧光增白剂DT，收率60%。
用途：主要用于涤纶，涤/棉混纺增白，以及锦纶，醋纤或合成纤维与棉，毛混纺的增白，也可用于退浆，氧化性漂白（氧漂，亚漂），具有良好的耐洗性能，耐晒牢度，特别是升华牢度良好。浸染用量一般为1-2%，轧染用量为25-35g/L。荧光增白剂DT属苯唑类。苯并唑类增白剂大部分是非离子型，可溶于有机溶剂，发出强烈的蓝色或紫色荧光，但难溶于水，所以必须与分散剂一起研磨成细小的颗粒，制成水悬浊液（分散液）的处理液，然后浸渍纤维，并且必须在高温下处理。
