性质:微红色或灰色结晶或块状物。溶于水,易潮解。遇碱反应生成氢氧化物或其沉淀,其水溶液与草酸反应生成草酸稀土沉淀,与硫酸钠或硫酸铵反应生成稀土硫酸钠复盐或稀土硫酸铵复盐沉淀。主要用于制取混合稀土金属和提取单一稀土,大量用于制备石油裂化催化剂,还用作玻璃研磨剂。由独居石经碱熔、除杂、沉淀后与盐酸反应而得;或由氟碳铈矿精矿经浓盐酸溶解、用碱转化,再经盐酸溶解而得;也可由氟碳铈矿经焙烧后用盐酸溶解而得。
