1.草名。一说为红心灰藋之俗称。相传唐代王炎,梦侍吴王。久之,闻宫中出辇,鸣箫击鼓,言葬西施。吴王悲悼不止,立诏词客作挽歌。炎应教作《西施挽歌》,有"满地红心草,三层碧玉阶"之句。唐沈亚之《异梦录》﹑唐谷神子《博异志》均载此事。后以"红心草"为美人遗恨之典故。
