锰酸钾化学式K2MnO4，分子量197.14。绿色细小菱形晶体，溶于水形成不稳定的溶液，在酸性溶液中易被空气中的氧气氧化成高锰酸钾。190℃时分解，有较强氧化性，用做氧化剂、媒染剂、消毒剂等。用熔融的氢氧化钾或碳酸钾跟二氧化锰反应制取，或用高锰酸钾饱和溶液跟氢氧化钾溶液混和共煮、结晶、制备。
